T01: Your ship looks a little beat up, but I have to admit I'm impressed by how smoothly she sails!
T01: [SS] Our ships seem behind the times. Even this run-down vessel works better than ours! Sad...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T02: Emperor Unan recently sent some Sanan ships northward. They're a little late getting home...
T02: [SS] Our ships were heading for Belinsk, which isn't the safest port. I hope nothing happened...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T03: Those Lemurians are amazing! The ships they rebuilt for us are absolutely amazing craft!
T03: [SS] Those Lemurian sailors refitted our ship in nothing flat. And now it's ten times the ship it was!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T04: Those ships were the pride of Sana. But after Lemurian refitting, we were ashamed of how much better they were.
T04: [SS] The northern seas are pretty treacherous, but I've got a good feeling about this ship. It will make it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Outside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T05: Emperor Unan wants to stop the fight between Lord Sun and Lady Moon.
T05: [SS] Emperor Unan seemed to be glaring at the sky when it went dark, as if he was angry at it...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T06: Lord Sun was always so bright, but now I can look right at him because Lady Moon blocks the light.
T06: [SS] I wonder if it's snowing in the lands with no sun...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T07: Ko is no longer emperor of Sana, thank goodness. The old emperor was a fiend and warmonger.
T07: [SS] Thank goodness the nightmare reign of Emperor Ko is over and Unan has the throne.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T08: Have you seen the captain from Lemuria? He is no mere trader—he carries himself like a warrior.
T08: [SS] Yeah, that captain definitely had the "warrior's swagger" going on.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Gear Seller: It is a strange time when Lord Sun and Lady Moon cannot work out their differences...
Tonfon Gear Seller: [SS] Lord Sun, Lady Moon, please put aside your differences... I'm so cold.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanan Woman: We of Tonfon enjoy the light of Lord Sun the year round. But in the western lands, the sunlight is gone. We find it quite eerie...
[If you got the gift in Kaocho:]
Sanan Woman: [SS] My grandmother went to Kaocho just as everything started happening. I keep worrying about her...
[If you didn't take the gift in Kaocho:]
Sanan Woman: [SS] I wonder if the areas of darkness will expand further...
[If you give her the gift:]
Sanan Woman: You met my grandmother? And you've got something for me? I-I...thank you. A letter and a gift from Grandma... *sniff*
-Onward!-
[When you talk to her after giving her the gift:]
Sanan Woman: Oh, Grandma...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T09: Unan became emperor only recently, after a great civil war following Emperor Ko's death. We lost many Sanan territories, and our colonists were killed. It saddened Emperor Unan.
T09: [SS] Lord Kuan of Morgal was killed in the battle for his kingdom. Poor Emperor Unan must miss his brother.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T10: Emperor Unan had closed the port until recently so news of Emperor Ko's death wouldn't spread. The order came right after the emperor met with that foreign visitor...
T10: [SS] Emperor Unan has opened the port again. Apparently he got a letter from that Lemurian captain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T11: Rumors say there's a really valuable gem hidden in Lady Hinechou's room. I wonder how valuable...?
T11: [SS] Lady Hinechou's room is so packed, I'd need a diversion to grab the gem...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T12: With Ko and Wo both gone, Sana is peaceful at last. It is a relief to not be at war.
T12: [SS] Emperor Unan's plan to succeed Ko would never have worked if Wo had been in the country.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T13: Emperor Unan has given orders not to go west of Tonfon unless absolutely necessary.
T13: [SS] The folktale says to walk in light and avoid shadow when Lord Sun is hiding. Sound advice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T14: I have too much to carry, so I wait for the ferry boat. But it never comes...
T14: [SS] That lazy ferryman is probably asleep somewhere while my customers wait!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you use Slap on the ferryman:]
T15: Uh oh, uh oh! It's already time to get the ferry moving!
-Onward!-
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T15: : I know my boat, and that much cargo would sink it in a second. We'll have to make a few trips.
T15: [SS] Dad never told me about customers like this when he was teaching me the business...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T14: What do you mean, "a few trips"?! You expect me to spend all my profit on your shipping fees? Never! You hear? Never!
T14: [SS] This water rat is trying to extort more money out of me! What nerve!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you gave the grandmother's gift to the woman on the bridge, this triggers the next time you head for the docks:]
Sanan Woman: (off-screen) Oh, please don't go yet!
[She heads down the stairs toward Matthew.]
Sanan Woman: Here. This is an heirloom that my family has kept for generations.
Text: Matthew got a psy crystal.
Sanan Woman: Please take it as my thanks for bringing this to me. Can I beg one more favor, though? If you pass through Kaocho again in your travels, would you give this to Grandma?
Text: Matthew got the grandchild's gift.
Sanan Woman: Safe travels, wherever you go.
-Onward!-
[NOTE: She returns to her default dialogue.]
[Inside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T16: If anyone can heal our nation, it is Emperor Unan. He is wise and kind and loved by his people.
T16: [SS] I'm so grateful for the wise rule of Emperor Unan. He sees us as countrymen, not subjects.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T17: The old emperor, Ko, loved war. We warred everywhere, and our young men were sent off to fight. Emperor Ko died a few years ago. Luckily, King Wo was away and Unan could become emperor.
T17: [SS] Emperor Ko actually designated Wo as his successor, but we will keep that secret forever.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T18: All we ever eat at my house is fish. I wonder what they eat in other countries...
T18: [SS] Someday I'll travel the world and try all the food in other countries.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T19: Sana used to be on a plateau with no access to the sea. Now we get all the fish we can eat!
T19: [SS] It's wonderful that fish is so easy to get now...but I wish the smell wasn't so overpowering...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T20: When I was young, the only fish I got was dried carp. Now we have fresh cod, tuna, and what-have-you.
T20: [SS] Hmmm...what kind of fish should we have tonight?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: This rice dish has a rich mixture of vegetables and herbs mixed in, then fried to decadent perfection.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: Medicine of Sana: A medicine called ginseng is said to refresh the mind and spirit. In the correct dosage, it will also cure stomachache, headache, fevers, and ennui.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T21: A strange ship came in recently, apparently from some place called Lemuria in the south. I've never heard of the place, so it's probably far away. They have intriguing merchandise, though.
T21: [SS] Where could Lemuria be? It must be far to the south, if our sailors have never encountered it...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Text: There's a thick layer of dust. Seems this oven doesn't get much use...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T22: To the east lies a land of hermits and sages. Emperor Ko once sent men there for the secret of immortality.
T22: [SS] I wonder if drinking the blood of this "Great Serpent" really would have granted immortality... A pity that it was slain before Emperor Ko could find out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T23: Princess Himi of Yamata supposedly has amazing powers. Her parents ARE heroes, so...maybe?
T23: [SS] They say King Susa was a bit of a playboy in his youth... I wonder what his daughter is like.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T24: I wonder why they built the Endless Wall? For that matter, I wonder WHO built it...
T24: [SS] My husband seems REALLY into the Endless Wall. It's neat and all, but...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T25: The Endless Wall extends west of Sana. It was made in the ancient days, like all the best stuff.
T25: [SS] The top of the Endless Wall is a long, long road. Maybe the ancients enjoyed walking...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Some sort of jelly made from almonds, served with fresh fruit. A decadent dessert, to be sure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Candied chestnuts, a Tonfon favorite. It takes all day to make them, but only minutes to eat the whole batch!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Inn:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Innkeeper: [SS] We just finished a civil war, and now the skies rebel against us...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Mmm... Tonfon stir-fry... A little burnt, but still delicious.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Item Shop:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Item Seller: Since the revolution in Morgal, we can't get goods from there anymore. Hard times are ahead...
Tonfon Item Seller: [SS] It's insane that because Volechek can't get along with anyone, my customers can't get their medicine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Healer's Place:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Healer: [SS] Lady Moon blocking out Lord Sun seems a terrible portent. It seems Emperor Unan knows of this...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Endless Wall: This barrier was built by the ancient Sanans, and consumed all of their resources. But why was this roadlike wall built? While none are certain, some say it leads to a hidden, sacred temple.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Legend of the Tower in Belinsk: The power sleeping beneath Belinsk could revolutionize the world. But this new form of power would devastate Weyard as we know it, so the tower must remain below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Outside the Palace:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T26: Ah, yes. The Lemurian captain told us to expect you. Please enter.
T26: [SS] They're even younger than I thought. Can these be the ones the emperor wanted to see?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T27: Sir Matthew and friends. Emperor Unan awaits you in his study, beyond the throne room.
T27: [SS] THESE are the "warriors" the emperor is waiting for? What is he thinking?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sana Palace
[Inside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T28: I don't know if I believe there are monsters in the shadows...but I don't really want to check, either.
T28: [SS] Must not drop my guard... Must not drop my guard... Monsters never rest...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T29: We must not stray into shadow, but stay in Lord Sun's sight, as Emperor Unan instructs us.
T29: [SS] "Walk in the light at every opportunity." Such is the wisdom of Emperor Unan.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T30: Lady Hinechou lives on the far side of the pond. She's the sister-in-law of Emperor Unan.
T30: [SS] Someday I hope to be even half as elegant and sophisticated as Lady Hinechou.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T31: Everyone is worried about Lady Hinechou's children. The rescue ship has not returned...
T31: [SS] I shudder to think about what might have happened to the rescue ship in Morgal...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T32: Emperor Unan's brother, Kuan, was the lord of Morgal before he was killed in the beastman revolution. Though Sana is now unified, the emperor grieves so for his brother that he can barely speak.
T32: [SS] Curse that King Wo! If we hadn't been fighting him, maybe we could have stopped the coup in Morgal. Of course, Volechek is the one who actually killed Emperor Unan's brother...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Mysterious Land of Tuaparang: Tuaparang was an ancient county that one day vanished from Weyard. Decades later, it abruptly reappeared, aboard an enormous flying ship and having renamed itself the Zenith Tribe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T33: Lady Hinechou puts on a brave face, but no one could lose her children and husband and remain happy.
T33: [SS] Tragic that Lady Hinechou's husband should die so early. I hope the children are alive somewhere...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: This seafood soup is chock-full of mussels and other shellfish. ...It might be TOO delicious.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T34: Lord Kuan and Emperor Unan were as close as any brothers I've known. Then came the Morgal revolution...
T34: [SS] I'll always remember how they were as boys: Unan so quiet and shy, Kuan always up to some mischief...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Outside the Palace:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T35: My job is to sound the gong if enemies attack. If I just ring it for fun, everyone gets mad.
T35: [SS] This job is really dull. Just once I want to give this gong a giant whack!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Hinechou's Room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 1: If the gong sounds, I must respond immediately, so I never really relax. At the end of the day, I'm exhausted.
Lady H's Servant 1: [SS] I have to relax... Not every little sound is the gong...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 2: Losing one child would have been hard enough, but both at once! My poor Lady Hinechou...
Lady H's Servant 2: [SS] Lady Hinechou is a stronger person than I am. If I'd lost a husband AND two children, I couldn't go on...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 3: Lady Hinechou smiles with her mouth, but not her eyes. I fear they won't smile until the children return.
Lady H's Servant 3: [SS] When the rescue ship went to look for the children, we were all so excited and hopeful... But as the weeks went on and it never came back, the life drained out of the household.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T36: Lady Hinechou is faithful—or stubborn—enough to believe Hou Ju is still alive. I wish I could agree.
T36: [SS] I wonder if what they say about the Echo Gems is true...as long as Hou Ju carries hers, the other can find it...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Letter: My dearest Hinechou, At last I can say that the locals have submitted to our just rule. I know your illness makes travel hard, but the children should see this place. Yours always, Kuan.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Hinechou: The others tell me I must accept that Ryu Kou and Hou Ju are dead. This I cannot do. If only my husband had not been slain... His Echo Gem would have found Hou Ju easily.
Lady Hinechou: [SS] The Echo Gems have served our family for generations. I thought Hou Ju would be safe with hers. Each gem will always find the other... unless you cannot bring yourself to remove yours from your dresser...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sana Palace
[When you enter the study:]
Palace Servant: You wish to meet with Emperor Unan?
Matthew:
[continues below]
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
Palace Servant: Then please leave at once.
(*Continuing*)
Emperor Unan: Who is it? Pardon me, but are you not the master sage, Kraden? I am most pleased you have come. Please enter.
[They all approach him.]
Emperor Unan: Thank you all for coming.
Kraden: We have heard much of the wisdom of Emperor Unan. It is a great honor to meet you.
Emperor Unan: And I in turn have heard much of the knowledge of the great scholar, Kraden. The honor is entirely mine.
Kraden: May we assume, Your Majesty, that you already know of the eclipse across the continent?
Emperor Unan: I had heard legends of it from a Morgal storyteller once, but nothing could have prepared me for the reality. When Sana occupied Morgal, I visited my brother there for a time and learned much of its culture. As I understand it, we have whoever activated Luna Tower to blame for this catastrophe.
Amiti: We bear some of the responsibility, though the consequences are beyond even our wildest nightmares.
Emperor Unan: "Some" of the responsibility?
Sveta: Well, it was the Tuaparang who were really responsible!
Emperor Unan: Tuaparang? As in the self-styled "Zenith Tribe" of Tuaparang?
Tyrell: But the one who actually turned it on was a Sana boy named Ryu Kou.
Matthew:
Karis: That's right. He could only think about saving his sister, so we can't put too much blame on him.
--------------------------
Matthew:
Karis: Yeah, using someone's sister as a hostage is a pretty low blow. Let's show those Tuaparang!
--------------------------
Matthew:
Karis: Poor kid. He was in a pretty rotten situation. No one can really blame him for what he did.
--------------------------
Matthew:
Karis: Hey, if YOUR sister was going to be boiled alive unless you did something, what would you have done?
(*Continuing*)
Emperor Unan: Ryu Kou and his sister...
Rief: Oh, right! We had heard that Ryu Kou and Hou Ju were somehow connected to the Sanan royal family!
[Emperor Unan is troubled.]
Kraden: What is the matter, Your Majesty?
Emperor Unan: Ryu Kou is my brother's son...
Eoleo: So Hou Ju...
Emperor Unan: Is my niece, yes. But at least now I know that both were alive before the eclipse... I sent a ship to Morgal to rescue them once we had news that they were there.
Kraden: And the ship...?
Emperor Unan: It has not returned.
Amiti: We were separated from them just before the eclipse. I hope they were able to avoid the monsters...
Sveta: I don't imagine there is any way of knowing...
Tyrell: I've got a good feeling about it. I'm sure they made it.
Emperor Unan: I want nothing more than to see them alive again, but prayer seems my only recourse. In any case, as emperor I cannot be seen to show too much emotion, even over the loss of my own kin. But enough about my woes. May I be introduced to your companions?
Kraden: They are descendants of the famed Warriors of Vale. This is Matthew, son of Isaac.
Emperor Unan: Ah, the Warriors of Vale...
Karis: If you please, Your Majesty, my name is Karis.
Tyrell: I'm Tyrell.
Rief: I am called Rief, Your Majesty.
Amiti: I...am not related to the Warriors of Vale, but please call me Amiti.
Sveta: I am not related either...as you can clearly see. I'm Sveta of the Fang Tribe.
Eoleo: I'm just Eoleo.
[~ROOM FOR OPTIONAL LINE THAT EXISTS HERE IF I RECALL CORRECTLY~]
Emperor Unan: You all honor me with your presence. But now I must know, Kraden, what brings you and your companions here? What do you seek?
Kraden: Your Majesty...would you be kind enough to let us see the items your army brought back from Morgal?
[Emperor Unan pulls a scroll and a bookshelf slides open to reveal a door.]
Kraden: Er... Your Majesty, what...?
Emperor Unan: This was part of Emperor Ko's so-called "hidden road," by which he brought treasures into the country. I can think of no better use for them than to give to those who fight to end the eclipse.
Kraden: You would grant us treasures without even asking us why we want them? Are you not curious?
Emperor Unan: I have looked at you and heard you speak. If you can bring this eclipse to an end, no treasure is too dear.
-Onward!-
[NOTE: There's no additional dialogue or alternate version of that scene if you have Himi for that scene.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Palace Servant: Lord Kuan's children survived the Morgal revolution? Wonderful! I wonder where they are now...?
Palace Servant: [SS] What a relief to hear news of the children!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emperor Unan: The spoils of my predecessor's constant warfare are a small price to stop the eclipse. None in Sana know of the treasures here. Please take them from my sight.
Emperor Unan: [SS] If my help can end the eclipse even one day sooner, I must do everything I can.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Text: It's just an empty pot... No, wait! There's something at the bottom! It's just somebody's gum...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you ring the gong outside the palace:]
Lady H's Servant 3: The gong! The gong!
[Lady Hinechou and her three servants run downstairs]
Lady H's Servant 1: Is...is...is it an attack?
[She races outside.]
[Outside the Palace:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T35: Was that the gong? What's happening?!
T35: [SS] I didn't do anything wrong this time! Why is the gong sounding? ...I'm in trouble.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 1: C-c-c-could it be an enemy attack?
Lady H's Servant 1: [SS] I was so startled by the sound of the gong, I forgot what I'm supposed to do!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Hinechou's Room
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T36: The gong sounded, signaling an enemy attack, but everything is quiet now... Hmmm...
T36: [SS] For everyone's sake, I mustn't appear to panic. But I am worried about the Echo Gem in the dresser.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 2: Ryu Kou and Hou Ju... To lose one child is bad enough, but both at once? My poor lady...
Lady H's Servant 2: [SS] The uncertainty is killing us all! Can the children be alive somewhere? How can we even find out?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 3: I will do my utmost for Lady Hinechou, especially in these trying times.
Lady H's Servant 3: [SS] No one has had more cause for grief than our poor Lady Hinechou.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Matthew runs upstairs and checks the dresser.]
Text: Matthew got the Echo Gem.
Text: The Echo Gem is resonating... The other one is that way!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you try ringing the gong after getting the Echo Gem or returning Ryu Kou and Hou Ju:]
Karis: That gong signals an enemy attack. Think of the panic you'd cause if you rang it! Better leave it alone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[When you head up the steps to the ship:]
Kraden: Ah, Matthew, is it time to go?
Matthew: [Yes]
Kraden: Very well, let's get under way!
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
Kraden: Understood. Let's rest while we can.
-Onward!-
[The first time you board the boat in Tonfon, you get this scene:]
Rief: Sorry to bother you, Kraden, but something has been troubling me.
Kraden: Oh? What is that?
Rief: Why didn't Nowell come with you to Belinsk?
Kraden: I was wondering when you'd get around to asking me that.
Rief: With everything that's happened, and all the peril and whatnot...
Kraden: Of course. She slipped your mind.
Rief: I am ashamed though. She IS my sister...
Kraden: Well, I suspect she's a touch distracted herself...but by love rather than peril.
Rief: Nowell is in love?! With whom?
Kraden: Captain Piers.
Matthew: ?!
Rief: Piers of the Warriors of Vale?
Kraden: When Piers arrived to ferry us, she seemed especially...vibrant. Aglow, even. When I disembarked, she simply told me, "I'm going with Piers."
Rief: Piers is a powerful Adept, so she'll have a fine tutor...but...they just sailed off together?
Kraden: Piers is one of the most capable sailors in the world. I'm sure no harm will befall her.
Rief: I had no idea... But I'm glad she didn't get tangled up in all of this. She was always the lucky one.
Kraden: Hmm... I wonder if you won't eventually think the opposite...
Rief: Why? Where are they sailing to?
Kraden: If we stand here reflecting on every one of our worries, we'll never leave. Onward!

T16: If anyone can heal our nation, it is Emperor Unan. He is wise and kind and loved by his people.
T16: [SS] I'm so grateful for the wise rule of Emperor Unan. He sees us as countrymen, not subjects.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T17: The old emperor, Ko, loved war. We warred everywhere, and our young men were sent off to fight. Emperor Ko died a few years ago. Luckily, King Wo was away and Unan could become emperor.
T17: [SS] Emperor Ko actually designated Wo as his successor, but we will keep that secret forever.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T18: All we ever eat at my house is fish. I wonder what they eat in other countries...
T18: [SS] Someday I'll travel the world and try all the food in other countries.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T19: Sana used to be on a plateau with no access to the sea. Now we get all the fish we can eat!
T19: [SS] It's wonderful that fish is so easy to get now...but I wish the smell wasn't so overpowering...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T20: When I was young, the only fish I got was dried carp. Now we have fresh cod, tuna, and what-have-you.
T20: [SS] Hmmm...what kind of fish should we have tonight?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: This rice dish has a rich mixture of vegetables and herbs mixed in, then fried to decadent perfection.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: Medicine of Sana: A medicine called ginseng is said to refresh the mind and spirit. In the correct dosage, it will also cure stomachache, headache, fevers, and ennui.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T21: A strange ship came in recently, apparently from some place called Lemuria in the south. I've never heard of the place, so it's probably far away. They have intriguing merchandise, though.
T21: [SS] Where could Lemuria be? It must be far to the south, if our sailors have never encountered it...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Text: There's a thick layer of dust. Seems this oven doesn't get much use...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T22: To the east lies a land of hermits and sages. Emperor Ko once sent men there for the secret of immortality.
T22: [SS] I wonder if drinking the blood of this "Great Serpent" really would have granted immortality... A pity that it was slain before Emperor Ko could find out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T23: Princess Himi of Yamata supposedly has amazing powers. Her parents ARE heroes, so...maybe?
T23: [SS] They say King Susa was a bit of a playboy in his youth... I wonder what his daughter is like.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T24: I wonder why they built the Endless Wall? For that matter, I wonder WHO built it...
T24: [SS] My husband seems REALLY into the Endless Wall. It's neat and all, but...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T25: The Endless Wall extends west of Sana. It was made in the ancient days, like all the best stuff.
T25: [SS] The top of the Endless Wall is a long, long road. Maybe the ancients enjoyed walking...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Some sort of jelly made from almonds, served with fresh fruit. A decadent dessert, to be sure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Candied chestnuts, a Tonfon favorite. It takes all day to make them, but only minutes to eat the whole batch!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Inn:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Innkeeper: [SS] We just finished a civil war, and now the skies rebel against us...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: Mmm... Tonfon stir-fry... A little burnt, but still delicious.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Item Shop:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Item Seller: Since the revolution in Morgal, we can't get goods from there anymore. Hard times are ahead...
Tonfon Item Seller: [SS] It's insane that because Volechek can't get along with anyone, my customers can't get their medicine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Healer's Place:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonfon Healer: [SS] Lady Moon blocking out Lord Sun seems a terrible portent. It seems Emperor Unan knows of this...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Endless Wall: This barrier was built by the ancient Sanans, and consumed all of their resources. But why was this roadlike wall built? While none are certain, some say it leads to a hidden, sacred temple.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Legend of the Tower in Belinsk: The power sleeping beneath Belinsk could revolutionize the world. But this new form of power would devastate Weyard as we know it, so the tower must remain below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Outside the Palace:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T26: Ah, yes. The Lemurian captain told us to expect you. Please enter.
T26: [SS] They're even younger than I thought. Can these be the ones the emperor wanted to see?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T27: Sir Matthew and friends. Emperor Unan awaits you in his study, beyond the throne room.
T27: [SS] THESE are the "warriors" the emperor is waiting for? What is he thinking?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Inside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T28: I don't know if I believe there are monsters in the shadows...but I don't really want to check, either.
T28: [SS] Must not drop my guard... Must not drop my guard... Monsters never rest...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T29: We must not stray into shadow, but stay in Lord Sun's sight, as Emperor Unan instructs us.
T29: [SS] "Walk in the light at every opportunity." Such is the wisdom of Emperor Unan.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T30: Lady Hinechou lives on the far side of the pond. She's the sister-in-law of Emperor Unan.
T30: [SS] Someday I hope to be even half as elegant and sophisticated as Lady Hinechou.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T31: Everyone is worried about Lady Hinechou's children. The rescue ship has not returned...
T31: [SS] I shudder to think about what might have happened to the rescue ship in Morgal...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T32: Emperor Unan's brother, Kuan, was the lord of Morgal before he was killed in the beastman revolution. Though Sana is now unified, the emperor grieves so for his brother that he can barely speak.
T32: [SS] Curse that King Wo! If we hadn't been fighting him, maybe we could have stopped the coup in Morgal. Of course, Volechek is the one who actually killed Emperor Unan's brother...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Mysterious Land of Tuaparang: Tuaparang was an ancient county that one day vanished from Weyard. Decades later, it abruptly reappeared, aboard an enormous flying ship and having renamed itself the Zenith Tribe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T33: Lady Hinechou puts on a brave face, but no one could lose her children and husband and remain happy.
T33: [SS] Tragic that Lady Hinechou's husband should die so early. I hope the children are alive somewhere...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oven: This seafood soup is chock-full of mussels and other shellfish. ...It might be TOO delicious.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T34: Lord Kuan and Emperor Unan were as close as any brothers I've known. Then came the Morgal revolution...
T34: [SS] I'll always remember how they were as boys: Unan so quiet and shy, Kuan always up to some mischief...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Outside the Palace:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T35: My job is to sound the gong if enemies attack. If I just ring it for fun, everyone gets mad.
T35: [SS] This job is really dull. Just once I want to give this gong a giant whack!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady H's Servant 1: If the gong sounds, I must respond immediately, so I never really relax.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[When you enter the study:]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T36: The gong sounded, signaling an enemy attack, but everything is quiet now...
Onward!
