[World Map:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sign: West: Border Town/Bilibin
Northeast: Saha Town & Kolima Village
Southeast: Port Rago
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[When you enter Belinsk the first time:]
Tyrell: Ah, we finally made it to Belinsk!
Karis: And somewhere around here, we should meet Kraden again...
Rief: This city is enormous! I suppose the capital of Morgal needs to be, though.
Amiti: I am...overwhelmed. There is so much to see and hear. And musicians! They make the city seem so joyful.
Tyrell: Hey, didn't Sveta tell us to request some song from a band when we're ready to meet her?
Rief: That's right. It was called "Arangoa Prelude," if memory serves.
Amiti: Indeed. First things first, though. Let us begin looking for Kraden.
Karis: Yeah, let's go soak up some local color and talk to people!

-Onward!-

Belinsk

[If you go back toward the gate:]
Karis: Let's get some information before we leave. I'll bet the band members see all sorts of people come through.
-Onward!-

[Main City Outside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B01: Cool, crisp air... Just the hint of a breeze, carrying the scent of the sea. Isn't it a glorious day?

Matthew: [Yes]
B01: Yes, the kind of day that makes you forget your troubles and maybe sing a little bit... "Well, Khiren Glacier's great, It provides run-off to Lake Bycal—" Sorry! I just really like our water-supply song...
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
B01: Well, fine. I'll just go and enjoy the weather by myself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B02: These minstrels play all kinds of different music, depending on mood and who shows up to play.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Mountain Roc Rising":]
B03: This is a piece of music called "Mountain Roc Rising." Amazing percussion, eh?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Lake Bycal Moonlight":]
B03: This is a piece of music called "Lake Bycal Moonlight." It takes me back to my younger days...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Rainbow over Koba Desert":]
B03: This is a piece of music called "Rainbow Over (sic) Koba Desert." It's sentimental...but I like it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B04: Have I seen an old human come into town? No, can't say I have. And I watch the front gate closely.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B05: I don't see how boiling anyone can accomplish anything good. We'll wind up at war with Champa too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B06: The peoples of Champa and Morgal are more alike than most of my countrymen would care to admit. Both cultures regard family very highly...which makes me worry about what Briggs will do to us...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B07: Since brave Volechek became the king of Morgal, we've started calling ourselves the Fang Tribe.
----------------------------------------------------
B08: Good King Volechek finally caught that Champa ruffian, Eoleo, scourge of the Eastern Sea. He's going to be boiled to death on the next full moon. Better than he deserves, if you ask me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B09: King Volechek apparently won't establish friendly relations with Bilibin and Sana for personal reasons. Volechek's parents were killed in the war we lost against the Sanans, and Bilibin refused to lend help.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Piano: Everyone's sounding so good! Seems like we get better each time we travel.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Mountain Roc Rising":]
Bass: "Mountain Roc Rising" is sure to wake you up and knock the wax out of your ears!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Lake Bycal Moonlight":]
Bass: "Lake Bycal Moonlight" takes us back to a simpler time. Reminisce with us!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If minstrels are playing "Rainbow over Koba Desert":]
Bass: "Rainbow over Koba Desert" is one of those songs that tugs at your heartstrings. Give it a listen...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Violin: The harmony, the rhythm... It feels good when everything just clicks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drums: I know I'm supposed to keep perfect rhythm, but sometimes I kinda want to mess it up on purpose, you know?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trumpet: Hey—got a request?

Matthew: [Yes]
Trumpet: We have five band members right now, so there are three different songs we can play.

[If you select "Mountain Roc Rising":]
Trumpet: Ahem... One, two, three, four...

[If you select "Lake Bycal Moonlight" or "Rainbow over Koba Desert:"]
Trumpet: Ahem... One, two, three...
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]/[Maybe another time...]
Trumpet: We get a lot out of traveling Morgal playing our music. It's nice to be able to bring joy to people. It may be only a temporary respite from troubles, but it's great to help people forget their cares.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Inside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beastman Granny: When we first became beastmen, a lot of humans hated us for being different. It was hard for a while. Eventually, we all migrated north to Morgal. We didn't plan it, but this is where we all wound up...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beastman Gramps: As a young man, I was a human just like you. The Golden Sun changed all that. Day by day, my hair grew thicker and thicker, and now I just have fur. Most beastmen will say the same.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you check the pot on the table:]
Text: It's all wet now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Inn:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B10: Thirty years ago, I was an ordinary animal. Now look at me! I'm wearing clothes and walking on my hind legs!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Weapon/Armor Shop:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B11: I heard Sana invaded Morgal because Emperor Ko thought blood from the Mountain Roc would make him immortal. I don't know why their army left without Lord Kuan, but all the Sanan soldiers who stayed were wiped out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Healer's Place:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B12: Now that I walk on just my hind legs, I've sort of lost my taste for raw meat and such. Mostly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Mythical Mountain Roc: Many still consider the Mountain Roc to be mere legend, with good reason. All those who have gone in search of the great bird have found nothing. Clearly the roc chooses who sees it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Symbol of Morgal: The Mountain Roc has a strong connection to the Belinsk ruins. The bird image carved into the ruins is clearly that of a Mountain Roc, implying that ancients also revered it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: Ancient Ruins of Belinsk: The Belinsk ruins are among the largest remaining from ancient times. Taken together, the sections built above and below the water make for a truly massive structure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: This is a mural of Belinsk. Inspecting it you notice the image of a tall tower. The tower is projecting starbursts, illuminated by the sun. Behind it is a full-moon sky.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The People of Morgal: A bright and cheerful people, those of Morgal are not at all warlike. Contributing to the nation's carefree reputation, Morgal drops everything for a major festival every full moon.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: The Beastman Explosion: After the Golden Sun, the Morgal people began growing fur. The fur was followed by long snouts, fangs, and claws, completing the transformation into beastmen.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: On Beastman Abilities: It is not known if the abilities unique to beastmen use standard Psynergy. Clearly some sort of Psynergy is being used, but powers such as Track have simply not existed before now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: Arangoa Prelude: Played for generations, the Prelude is said to be music for the gods. Legend says that, played with sufficient skill, this piece can bring happiness to all people, but this has yet to happen.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book: Belinsk and Music: Music was a part of Morgal culture since long before we were a country. The addition of a music hall when the castle was built was apparently a revelation that came in a dream.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Text: There are a bunch of difficult-looking books here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Docks entrance:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B13: I heard they caught a Sanan girl, but I don't know what happened to her after she went to the castle.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B14: An old human? No, no one like that has come in by boat in a long, long time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B15: Morgal has always been surrounded by enemies. I suppose that's our lot as beastmen, though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Castle:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beastman Guard 1: You have business in Belinsk Castle?

Matthew: [Yes]
Beastman Guard 1: The castle is open to the public during the festival. Come then if you want to have a look around.
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
Beastman Guard 1: You guys look like warriors. Have you, like, fought in wars?

Matthew: [Yes]
Beastman Guard 1: I'll bet the king would be interested in meeting seasoned warriors like yourselves. Pity he's so busy... I've got it! Come back the day after the festival, and I'll let you in to see the king.
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
Beastman Guard 1: Huh. I guess I was wrong. You sure look like warriors, though...

(*Continuing*)

[If you said "no" then "yes":]
Beastman Guard 1: I don't know what King Volechek will say when he sees you...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beastman Guard 2: Everyone is very busy getting ready for tonight's festival. You should just come back tomorrow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Belinsk Opera House

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B16: There's an old legend about this opera house that everyone 'round here knows. Care to hear it? This opera house has always been home to beautiful music—music that enchants everyone who hears. A dragon loved this music and never wanted to be apart from it, so it turned itself into a chandelier inside.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Young Woman: One of the chandeliers here is actually a dragon! I've never seen it, but I bring it dinner every day. It must really like the food I make, 'cause it's always eaten up when I come back!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Belinsk

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[If you check the door to the building with moon symbols behind the opera house:]
Text: It's locked from the inside.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[When you go to leave after speaking to at least one minstrel:]
Tyrell: So after all our running around, we still can't find Kraden in town.
Karis: Yeah, and no luck on "Arangoa Prelude," either.
Violin: [off-screen] Sorry for eavesdropping, but did I just hear you asking about "Arangoa Prelude"?

[Two of the minstrels approach them.]

Rief: Er, yes! Do you know something about it?
Piano: Something? Quite a bit, actually. We're two of the few musicians in the world who can play it.
Violin: Yep. We're both members of the only band that can play it... Someday maybe we'll do it justice...
Piano: I'm actually setting off to travel around Morgal to hear different sounds and work on my music.
Violin: My plan is to practice in some new surroundings. One day all six of us will be truly ready to play it.
Piano: And I think Vande said he was going on a trip as well, right?
Violin: Yeah, he said he wanted to hear the Mountain Roc's cry with his own two ears.
Piano: We should probably stop dragging our heels and get ready for our trips. Come on.

[The pink and blue-furred musicians leave.]

Karis: And they're off...
Rief: So it takes all six of them to play "Arangoa Prelude"?
Amiti: Yes, and half of them are going to be traveling for a while.
Tyrell: Then I guess we can't signal Sveta yet, so no guide for now.
Rief: And if we can't find Kraden in town, we should go west toward Bilibin and perhaps head him off.
Karis: That's a good idea. It may just be that he's still on the way.
Amiti: Westward to Bilibin, then!
[You automatically emerge on the World Map.]

[Outside:]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B17: This is the emblem of our proud nation of Morgal. If you don't recognize it, that bird in the emblem is Morgal's divine bird, the Mountain Roc! Morgal warriors wear the roc emblem proudly—and have for generations. Since you're not from around here, have you ever heard of the Mountain Roc?

Matthew: [Yes]
B17: Nobody even thought it existed until the Golden Sun event, and it's still a rare privilege to see it.
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
B17: It's a divine bird that Morgal is devoted to protecting. You can read about it in the library if you like.

B17: Since you're not from around here, have you ever heard of the Mountain Roc?
[The yes/no choice is the same.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B02: The minstrels play many different kind of music, depending on who shows up to play that day. I wish I could get them to play "Lake Bycal Moonlight." If you can arrange that, I'll share a secret.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bass: Looks like some of the band is out wandering. I guess we're a small group today, but simplicity can be good.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trumpet: We've only got three band members together right now, so our repertoire is kinda limited. Wanna hear something?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drums: With only three musicians, we tend to rely on a really rhythmic sound, but occasional solos spice things up.
