[He notices Matthew.]
Te Rya Man: Hello, strangers! Our friend Hou Ju's bag is missing. If you happen to find an elegant bag, would you let us know?
Matthew: [Yes]
Te Rya Man: Thank you. It probably sounds a bit crazy, us all worrying about this bag, but it's important to Hou Ju.

[When Matthew leaves the house, the shadowy person is standing near the top of the stairs. She runs away again once eye contact is made.]
[When you enter the lower center house after that scene, Matthew sees two men resting in beds. A woman enters behind him and sees him.]
Te Rya Lady: Hey, you weren't part of the mercenary group that tried to rescue Hou Ju, were you?
Mercenary 1: No, that was us. We tried to rescue her, but Belinsk Castle is just too well defended.
Te Rya Lady: The mercenaries can't rescue her, and I can't even find Hou Ju's precious bag...
???: [off-screen] Hey, what are you interlopers doing in here?!
[Ryu Kou and Hou Zan enter.]
Te Rya Lady: Um...Master Hou Zan?
Hou Zan: We have this situation under control, miss. You can go.
[The woman bows to the both of them and leaves.]
Hou Zan: We couldn't bar your entry, but we also can't have you just wandering around asking questions, I'm afraid.
Ryu Kou: Where are you people from? What are you doing here?
Tyrell: We're just traveling through... trying to find our way...
Ryu Kou: What are you talking about? Spit it out, man!
Hou Zan: Ryu Kou, if you interrupt, we shall never find out our visitors' intentions.
Matthew:
Ryu Kou: Your calm demeanor shames me. I spoke out of turn. I apologize.

Ryu Kou: Making the attempt if you're not prepared isn't merely foolhardy—it's suicidal.
Hou Zan: There may, however, be other routes you could try...

Hou Zan: I've got a good feeling about these folks. If they want to go to Morgal, who are we to say they can't?
Tyrell: You were saying something about other routes?
Ryu Kou: First indulge my curiosity: where did you come to the Khiren Highlands from?
Karis: Where did we come from...?
Hou Zan: If Morgal is your goal, you obviously didn't come from there. You therefore came from either the east or west.
Ryu Kou: And only Sanans travel the top of the Endless Wall to the east. So how did you cross the western valley?
Hou Zan: I wonder if perhaps you might be Adepts...?
Amiti: And if we are?
Hou Zan: Then you may be able to traverse the Teppe ruins.
Ryu Kou: Let's stop dancing around. You are obviously Adepts.
[Matthew’s group nods.]
Hou Zan: Indeed. So you will want to know that the Teppe ruins are due north of the village. The paths through are blocked by years of decay, but with Adept powers...
Tyrell: You think Psynergy will help us get through?
Ryu Kou: Ah, the legendary wisdom of the Adepts... Yes, that's what he means.
Hou Zan: You appear to be in a hurry. Perhaps you should leave in that same hurry.

Amiti: And if we are?
Hou Zan: Then you may be able to traverse the Teppe ruins.
Ryu Kou: Let's stop dancing around. You are obviously Adepts.
[Matthew’s group nods.]
Hou Zan: Indeed. So you will want to know that the Teppe ruins are due north of the village. The paths through are blocked by years of decay, but with Adept powers...
Tyrell: You think Psynergy will help us get through?
Ryu Kou: Ah, the legendary wisdom of the Adepts... Yes, that's what he means.
Hou Zan: You appear to be in a hurry. Perhaps you should leave in that same hurry.
Ryu Kou: Yes, leave us to wonder why YOU were blessed with supernatural powers and WE can't rescue my sister.

Te Rya Item Seller: You've got quite a collection going now.
Te Rya Gear Seller: Hey—you cleaned up the stuff that was dirty! Thanks.
Te Rya Item Seller: You're welcome. I think we're just about ready to open the store again. We just need some customers...
[She notices Matthew.]
Te Rya Item Seller: Oh! Customers!
Te Rya Gear Seller: Hey—you seem like you're looking for a bargain!
Matthew: [Yes]
[They approach the counter and bow.]
Te Rya Gear Seller: Welcome to our fine establishment.
Te Rya Item Seller: Welcome to our...place!

Te Rya Gear Seller: I'm sure you'll find something to your taste. Please look around.

[They approach the counter and bow.]
Te Rya Gear Seller: Welcome to our...establishment of a business!
Te Rya Item Seller: Er, yes. Welcome! Look around!

Te Rya Gear Seller: There are bargains everywhere. Just take a look!
