[When you enter the Alchemy Well:]
Amiti: This chamber houses our fabulous Alchemy Well. It blends the elements of earth and wind to create the water that flows into Barai Pond.
Rief: So we have to put the machine in reverse somehow. But how?
Amiti: The Alchemy Well was started with Psynergy... Perhaps another kind of Psynergy would work. What did you do to start the Alchemy Forge? The Jenei made our Alchemy Well, so hopefully you can tap into similar thinking here.
Tyrell: Yeah, we fired that thing up pretty easily, so I bet we can figure this machine out too.
Amiti: I hope it isn't too much trouble for you all to do this.
Karis: I'm sure we can do it, but what do you think, Matthew?
Matthew:
Karis: I agree! We didn't know how deep we would get drawn into all this, but it's up to us now.

Matthew:
Karis: I agree! We didn't know how much everyone would come to rely on us, but we're happy to help!

Matthew:
Karis: Don't pull your head into your shell! We've got work to do!

Karis: We've achieved so much already, Matthew! I'm sure we can do it!
(*Continuing*)
Amiti: Then you truly will help us? I'm so very grateful, my fr-fr-friends...
[Suddenly, Amiti starts glowing and a light appears under him. It fades and he shakes his head.]
Rief: What's wrong, Amiti?
Amiti: A voice... In my head...! It said, "The Sand Prince welcomes us..."
[He looks at a doorway inside the Alchemy Well.]
Amiti: I think the voice came from nearby. Ah, it is saying more! "Release me from my bonds. I will drink the pond dry."
Tyrell: Drink it dry? That sounds sort of like what we're trying to do!
Rief: Whoever is speaking to you, Amiti, he must know that we're trying to reverse the well!
Amiti: He is saying more! "The Sand Prince must sleep no more..." How strange! I'm sure that I've heard such a phrase in Ayuthay before! It must be related to reversing the Alchemy Well in some way.
Karis: What do you think? Should we search around here to find this sleeping Sand Prince?
Matthew: [Yes]
Karis: Then let's try to find our way to where the voice came from!

Matthew: [No]
Karis: Then let's head deeper inside this area to see if we can find some way to reverse the well.
(*Continuing*)

Tablet: WHEN THE MUSIC OF THE TREES BLOWS THROUGH, THE FIERCE PRINCE SHALL AWAKEN.

[After using the Tree Flute:]
Sand Prince: [disembodied] Children of the Jenei, I'm impressed that you have made it here. You seek the power that can reverse the Alchemy Well. Then you must take my power and seal it in a gemstone to use it as your own. I have waited for ages for an opportunity to share my power. Though you must first demonstrate that you are worthy of my power. You must defeat me, young ones. Now, show me what you can do, and I will show you the gemstone you require!
[After the fight, a shiny orb is in front of Matthew.]
Sand Prince: Impressive, children of the Jenei! You have proved yourselves fit to carry away my power.
[The light becomes a pretty red gemstone.]
Text: Matthew got the Sand Prince. The Sand Prince can be used only be Fire Adepts. Equip it to gain Arid Heat Psynergy.
Amiti: With that gemstone, I'm sure you can acquire the Psynergy to put the Alchemy Well in reverse.
-Onward!-
[Once you use Arid Heat on the main part of the Alchemy Well:]
Rief: The flow has stopped, and the water level has dropped!
Amiti: We've done it!
Karis: But with the flow in reverse, the people of Ayuthay are going without water. So let's find the Insight Glass in the Temple of Barai as fast as we can, then return here to restore their water!

A19: The Barai pond waters have receded! Shocking, I tell you!

A20: Everything started shaking, and then I heard a rushing sound! I think it came from the Barai pond!

A21: Now that the water has gone away, you can get into that passage down there!

A22: Look down there! With all the water gone, a passage was revealed! I wonder where it leads!

A23: The Kaocho soldiers were surprised to see the water drain from the pond outside! Good thing you're down here with us where it's safe, Matthew.

A24: You reversed the Alchemy Well and made the water go down? What a wonderful machine! At long last, I can finally visit the Temple of Barai!

A25: Some Kaocho soldiers saw that the water in the Barai pond went away, so they went to check it out!

A07: Our younger generation doesn't know of a time when Psynergy wasn't around! You too, right? But if you ask older people, they say it was hard to do anything back then. No one wants a return to the old days!

A08: The water vanished all of a sudden! But if we don't cool our food, it will all rot!

Oven: It's grilled meat that smells all crispy and roasty, and it's slathered in sauce too.

Oven: It's fried rice mixed with crab meat, sprinkled with salty fish sauce.

A12: Our ancestors, the Exathi, had a masterful knack for stonework. Everything they made was a stunning triumph!

A13: After the Golden Sun dawned 30 years ago, Ayuthay began to change, becoming ever richer. We stonecutters are in high demand. Everyone wants us to make sturdy, lasting testaments to our glory!

A14: Our people have always been gifted stoneworkers. In ancient times, even the Jenei came to Ayuthay for our skills!

Matthew: [Yes]
A27: Treasure hunters say that the temple was picked over long ago. But you Adepts might find something!

A27: Well, why not? I hope to go sometime, now that the water has receded!

[When you open the chest in front of the Luna Mask picture:]
Text: The party looks into the chest... and finds nothing more than a letter. Would you like to read it?
Matthew: [Yes]
Text: Matthew reads the letter.
Letter: You have done well to delve this deep, Adepts. Yet what you seek is not here. You must probe further, until you find the true depths of the temple.

Matthew: [No]
[The chest closes.]
(*Continuing*)

Tablet: WHEN WATER POURS INTO THE POOL, THE PATH TO AN ANCIENT RELIC SHALL OPEN UPON ITS SURFACE.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[When they fall into the innermost chamber:]
Mysterious voice: You have reached the true sanctum, Adepts, where you will now gain the ancient sight of the Jenei.
[A face appears in one of the waterfalls.]
Face: Those who possess the Insight Glass must heed a dire Jenei warning. Alchemy must never be restored to the world. It would bring the ruin of all things. The one who possesses the Insight Glass must help fight the return of Alchemy. Insight Psynergy will grant you the vision to see what should be done next. To see solutions. But this powerful object has a will of its own and chooses who shall possess it.
[A sparkly orb comes down from the ceiling and enters Amiti.]
Text: Amiti got the Insight Glass.
Face: Now, attempt using Insight Psynergy.
Amiti: Here goes...
[Amiti uses it. We see the totally inconspicuous fan in the center has a Whirlwind Psynergy symbol over it.]
Karis: What was THAT? Is it saying that I should use Whirlwind Psynergy here?
Face: Insight Psynergy grants a view of objects and people that can help you find a way forward.
Matthew: ?!
Karis: What an amazing power... And how curious that the Insight Glass chose its owner!
Tyrell: And it's Amiti? Hey! Why can't it be me?
Rief: How odd that the Insight Glass would choose Amiti, out of all us Adepts.
Amiti: I'm honored, of course! But I cannot say why it would choose me over any of you!
Karis: Well, who knows why it turned the rest of us down. At least we found the Insight Glass, so let's return to King Paithos!
-Onward!-
[While heading back out, Matthew finally notices a Mercury Djinni that's been sitting there the whole time.]
Amiti: Maybe the Insight Glass and the power it grants would be of some use right now.
[Amiti uses Insight and we see a Fireball Psynergy symbol over the Djinni.]
-Onward!-

[Heading back into Ayuthay Castle:]
Paithos: Ah, here you are at last. I've been waiting, Matthew.
Amiti: Why have you come, Uncle?
Paithos: I am worried that you won't find the ancient Insight Glass. It has been hidden for so very long! Ah, but I can see the pride beaming on your faces! But how about you, Matthew?
Matthew:
Karis: Well, Matthew is just as happy as the rest of us, of course!

Matthew:
Karis: Oh, Matthew is probably just trying to keep it under wraps! He's so mischievous sometimes!

(*Continuing*)
Paithos: What?! Could it be that you already have the Insight Glass?! Then you must truly be descendants of the Jenei! How fortunate that you got to see these great Adepts at work, Amiti. Just to accompany them must have been quite an honor.
Amiti: Yes, Matthew and his friends are true warriors. I only wish that I could have helped their party more.
Paithos: Still, you do look strangely pleased with yourself, Amiti. You must have helped a little.
Amiti: Truth be told, I was thrilled to spend time with them! I've never known such excitement!
Tyrell: Adventure pretty much follows us around Amiti.
Karis: But now we need to be going, I'm sorry to say.
Paithos: Truly? So soon?
Rief: Our friends Kraden and Nowell are waiting for us.
Karis: We need to get the Sol Mask from the Ouroboros, so we can finally get the Alchemy Forge working properly. The forge will help restore your ancient civilization, bringing water throughout this whole region... But it will also create that could passage that we need to cross the Khiren Mountains.
Paithos: The ancients were said to cross from Passaj to Craggy Peak... Perhaps there is truth to the legends.
Tyrell: We have to give it a try. So we've got to be going.
[Amiti frowns.]
Paithos: Is something troubling you, Amiti?
Amiti: I was chosen to use the Insight Glass. So I too must go to the Ouroboros.
Paithos: I do not understand, Amiti. What do you mean?
Tyrell: Yeah, it's crazy! The Insight Glass could think for itself and chose who could use it. It chose him!
Paithos: The...Insight Glass could think? What do you mean, it chose you? This cannot be, Amiti!
Karis: The Jenei put this into motion long ago. They must have wanted it to choose someone from Ayuthay. That must also be why they let the Ayuthay people use the Temple of Barai. And why the temple was founded in Ayuthay to begin with!
Amiti: The meaning of my life has suddenly become clear at last.
Paithos: So the Jenei left the Insight Glass in the temple...so we could inherit it?
Rief: I understand you must be shocked. But now we'll need Amiti’s help if we are to recover the Sol Mask.
Tyrell: Though Amiti is your sister's son, I can see you treat him like your own kid. But we, uh...need to borrow him.
Karis: He's absolutely shocked! What should we do?
Matthew:
Karis: What, you think he'll eventually warm up to the idea?

Matthew:
Karis: Way to be confident! I suppose that even if Amiti can't come with us, we'll get things done somehow!
--------------------------
Matthew:
Karis: Yeah, we are stuck if Amiti doesn't come with us. And then we might not get the Sol Mask!

Matthew:
Karis: What, you think we should just take him, even if Paithos forbids it?
(*Continuing*)
Amiti: We can't rely entirely on you kind people to fix the problems plaguing our Ei-Jei region. I must go... Paithos cannot stop me. We can leave, Matthew.
Paithos: Wait, Amiti, I command you!
Amiti: You would stop me, after all that's been said?
Paithos: That is not my intention. Your convictions have convinced me. Go. Walk the path you have chosen, Amiti. You are one of them now.
Amiti: Farewell, Uncle.
Paithos: You leave with my blessing. Be careful. I never thought to prepare you for such a journey.
Matthew: ...?
Karis: We promise to bring Amiti back safe and sound to you!
Tyrell: Yeah, leave it to us!
Rief: We're grateful for how generous you've been with us all.
Paithos: Ah, my dear child. You'll be a man the next time we meet.
Amiti: I will do my best, Uncle.
Paithos: Now, my ministers! We must return to the throne room!
Ayuthay Minister 1: Yes, Your Majesty.
Ayuthay Minister 2: Of course, Your Majesty.
Paithos: Tell the gate guards that these trusted people may leave the city. They are forever friends of ours!
Ayuthay Minister 2: Right away, Your Majesty.
[They leave and we see them talking to the guards at the stone gate.]
Paithos: Now you will be able to leave Ayuthay. I hope you find success.
[He walks up the stairs and leaves.]
Rief: A member of the royal family, joining our party? That is quite a surprising development.
Tyrell: You're still a great mystery, Amiti. I mean, your father was a powerful Adept! Who could he have been?
Karis: Don't you think it's practically fate that Amiti joined us?
Matthew: [Yes]
Karis: Yes, I figured you'd agree! I already can't imagine our party without him.
--------------------------
Matthew: [No]
Karis: But if it's not fate, I wonder why I feel like we were supposed to meet him?
(*Continuing*)
Amiti: Let's be on our way, friends. My new life awaits!
Tyrell: Ha! Our royal buddy will learn soon enough that our life isn't all golden pillows and royal servants!
Rief: But it's rather fun, isn't it? Having new members? Good things keep coming to us!
Tyrell: I hope so... Good things on the way? OK, sign me up.
Karis: But, Amiti, you will need to do something about your clothes.
Amiti: What's wrong with what I'm wearing?
Rief: Well, you're a bit...underdressed.
Amiti: Hmm. I suppose I would stand out.
Tyrell: Hey, no one stands out more than I do. We just don't want you to freeze up in the mountains!
Amiti: In that case, I'm going to leave you and go change into traveling clothes. When you're finished in Ayuthay, meet me at the gate that leads outside. To get there, head to the uppermost level of inner Ayuthay, then find the ladder room on the south end. I'll be at the top of the ladder with the gate guards.
[Amiti heads up the stairs.]
Karis: Now that we have what we need, let's change the flow of the Alchemy Well back to normal.
[It cuts to the Alchemy Well, where Rief uses Douse to restore the flow.]
Rief: Now the people of Ayuthay can rest easy.

A23: The generals saw you go into the Temple of Barai, Matthew! The ordered the troops to bring you back, because they want to finish you off once and for all!

A24: I hear you're leaving Ayuthay. You must be fond of traveling! Please come back and visit.

A25: You're Matthew, aren't you?
Matthew: [Yes]
A25: The Kaocho generals have ordered their soldiers to hunt you down! Be careful! You've made them angry!

A25: If you see this Matthew fellow, tell him the Kaocho generals are trying to hunt him down!

A06: I wish I'd gotten to know you better! Good-bye, descendants of the Jenei.

A07: I heard you were leaving. I'd get out of here too, if I could cook up some Psynergy!

A09: Now that your quest in Ayuthay is done, will you ever use the Alchemy Well again?
Matthew: [Yes]
A09: Good! Because I'd like to take the paths that appear only when the water level is down!

A09: No? But you're the only ones who can make the waters recede!

A12: The Temple of Barai is a masterpiece. When I saw the temple emerge from the water, I couldn't stop singing its praises!

A13: You people reversed the Alchemy Well? You have some surprising talents!

A14: When the Temple of Barai appeared from the water, I wept tears of joy! What masters its builders were!

A15: You let the water out of the Barai pond, right? I took a break from stoneworking to look at the temple.

A16: I thought WE had serious talent until I gazed upon the Temple of Barai. It's beyond brilliant.

Ayuthay Minister 1: The Insight Glass is our greatest secret, so I was relieved to hear that Amiti was entrusted with it. Now I won't have to worry that some stranger will steal its power.

Paithos: How it pains me to see Amiti leave Ayuthay. But restoring our ancient civilization is important. Ayuthay has lost its brightest light, but the world will surely brighten from his presence.

A01: Amiti is as precious to me as my own children. I cannot bear to say good-bye.

A02: King Paithos doesn't wish to see our little lord Amiti depart. How heavy it must weigh on his heart.

Ayuthay Minister 2: I always thought the Alchemy Well had only one function, but now we see what else it does. Just remember that our people will suffer if they go without water. Never reverse the well for too long.

A26: Our Amiti already seems like a changed man. He's well on his way to being a great warrior!

A19: You lowered the waters with the Alchemy Well so you could visit the temple? I wish I could have gone!

A20: How long will the Kaocho soldiers occupy our country? Chase them out of here, if you can!

A21: It's been lots of fun for us since you all showed up. Do you really have to go?

A22: I can't believe that Amiti is leaving with you Adepts! I'll try to behave if he stays here!

A23: Watch out, Matthew! The generals saw you go into the temple! I heard them order their troops to find you! They want to deal with you once and for all!

A24: I hear you plan to leave Ayuthay. You must be fond of traveling, so I hope you come back and visit.

A25: Hey, are you Matthew?
Matthew: [Yes]
A25: I don't know WHAT you did, but the generals gave orders for you to be rounded up. Be careful out there!

Matthew: [No]
A25: If you see this Matthew person, warn him that the Kaocho generals are on the hunt for him.

A12: The Temple of Barai is the kind of masterpiece that makes you cry out in joy every time you see it!

A14: When the Temple of Barai emerged from the water, tears came to my eyes... Such mastery is overpowering!

A15: You people let the water out of the Barai pond, right? I took a break to visit the temple for a while!

A16: I thought we were the most skillful stoneworkers who ever lived, but then I saw the beautiful Temple of Barai.

A26: Our Amiti already seems like a great warrior! I'm so proud of him.

A27: It saddens me to see Amiti equipped for battle. I feel like we're losing him forever.

[When you ascend the ladder, the two guards are standing there with Amiti, who is now wearing a different ensemble that even includes a shirt.]
Amiti: Ah, there you are! We're leaving, guards. Please open the gate.
Ayuthay Guard 1: At once, Your Highness!
Ayuthay Guard 2: We'd already been informed of your departure!
[They turn a couple of cranks and the stone doors slide open.]
Ayuthay Guard 1: You may now pass through the gate.
Ayuthay Guard 2: You can now come and go as you please.
Amiti: All right, let's be on our way.
Text: Amiti joined your party.
Text: You can have up to four characters in battle at a time. The remaining characters will be held in reserve. You can change your battle lineup by swapping an active character for one currently in reserve. Swap characters from the menu. To open the menu, tap {X} in the lower-right portion of the screen.
[It opens the menu and a tutorial follows.]
-You can choose which characters you will use in battle on the Status screen.-
-Swap any two characters' positions by first selecting one, then the other.-
[It swaps Rief with Amiti, and then back.]
-The four characters in the front row are the ones you will start with in battle.-
[It closes the menu.]
Text: You can also swap characters during combat by choosing {Switch}.

Ayuthay Guard 1: You can leave Ayuthay through this main gate. King Paithos has said that you may come and go through here as you please.

Ayuthay Guard 2: The outside world is a dangerous place, Amiti. Please take care of yourself out there.

[Matthew and Amiti head out the gate. It closes behind them.]
Amiti: Are you worried that we'll never be able to return to inner Ayuthay?
Matthew: [Yes]
Amiti: Don't worry. Simply walk up to the gate and speak to the guards inside. I'll show you.

Matthew: [No]
Amiti: Good, for it will now be a simple matter for us to enter. I'll show you.
(*Continuing*)
[Amiti walks up to the gate and a panel opens.]
Ayuthay Guard 1: Are you coming back inside already, Amiti?
[Amiti shakes his head.]

Ku-Embra: Now take your punishment, you mongrels!
Tyrell: I thought you said good things were coming our way, Rief!
Rief: Well, things were looking up, what with Amiti joining us!
Amiti: My friends, this may not be the best time to discuss it.
Karis: He's right! Time to fight!
[After the fight:]
Tyrell: We defeated the generals, Matthew!
Ku-Tsung: So you truly are powerful Adepts...
Ku-Embra: These young pups beat us...
Amiti: You never stood a chance against the Adepts, generals.
[The stone gates open and the ministers walk out, followed by Paithos.]
Ayuthay Minister 1: Kaocho's mightiest heroes...shamed by defeat.
Ayuthay Minister 2: The generals are renowned for their might. Their downfall proves Ayuthay's superiority.
Tyrell: I'd watch what you say, ministers... There are dangerous days for Ayuthay to brag that it's better than Kaocho.
Karis: That's right. Our victory might help stop the conflict. You wouldn't want to start new ones. Now, we should tie up the generals before they can make more trouble!
[It fades to black. When the picture comes back, the generals are tied up.]
Paithos: Adepts, you have our eternal gratitude for defeating the great generals of Kaocho. And you are right. This is no time to rile up the Kaocho outside. Please, forgive my advisors. You need to be able to leave Ayuthay and travel Ei-Jei without the Kaocho causing you trouble.
Ayuthay Minister 1: My deepest apologies.
Ayuthay Minister 2: We abide by your wisdom.
[The ministers leave.]
Amiti: I have an idea about how we can deal with the soldiers. The generals may be fierce fighters in personal combat... But they don't seem to lead their soldiers well. We could take advantage of this.
Paithos: True, their men have been wandering outside aimlessly for a long time. If we simply say nothing about the generals, they may never notice.
Karis: With most of their forces in Ayuthay, we can head to Kaocho and enter the Ouroboros without a hassle!
Amiti: This whole matter would be easier if there weren't quite SO many of them.
Paithos: In that case, we must keep the generals quiet inside Ayuthay, while you make your way to Kaocho.
Amiti: Keep close watch on them. That will buy us the time we need to find the Sol Mask. Let's make haste, my friends.
Paithos: The hopes of the Ayuthay, as well as all people of Ei-Jei, rest in your hands. Go now.
[The guards come out and drag away the generals. Paithos follows and the stone gate closes.]

Amiti: I think the voice came from nearby. Ah, it is saying more! "Release me from my bonds. I will drink the pond dry."
Tyrell: Drink it dry? That sounds sort of like what we're trying to do!
Rief: Whoever is speaking to you, Amiti, he must know that we're trying to reverse the well!
Amiti: He is saying more! "The Sand Prince must sleep no more..." How strange! I'm sure that I've heard such a phrase in Ayuthay before! It must be related to reversing the Alchemy Well in some way.
Karis: What do you think? Should we search around here to find this sleeping Sand Prince?
Matthew: [Yes]
Karis: Then let's try to find our way to where the voice came from!

[After the fight, a shiny orb is in front of Matthew.]
Sand Prince: Impressive, children of the Jenei! You have proved yourselves fit to carry away my power.
[The light becomes a pretty red gemstone.]
Text: Matthew got the Sand Prince. The Sand Prince can be used only be Fire Adepts. Equip it to gain Arid Heat Psynergy.
Amiti: With that gemstone, I'm sure you can acquire the Psynergy to put the Alchemy Well in reverse.

Rief: The flow has stopped, and the water level has dropped!
Amiti: We've done it!
Karis: But with the flow in reverse, the people of Ayuthay are going without water. So let's find the Insight Glass in the Temple of Barai as fast as we can, then return here to restore their water!

Mysterious voice: You have reached the true sanctum, Adepts, where you will now gain the ancient sight of the Jenei.
[A face appears in one of the waterfalls.]
Face: Those who possess the Insight Glass must heed a dire Jenei warning. Alchemy must never be restored to the world. It would bring the ruin of all things. The one who possesses the Insight Glass must help fight the return of Alchemy. Insight Psynergy will grant you the vision to see what should be done next. To see solutions. But this powerful object has a will of its own and chooses who shall possess it.
[A sparkly orb comes down from the ceiling and enters Amiti.]
Text: Amiti got the Insight Glass.
Face: Now, attempt using Insight Psynergy.
Amiti: Here goes...
[Amiti uses it. We see the totally inconspicuous fan in the center has a Whirlwind Psynergy symbol over it.]
Karis: What was THAT? Is it saying that I should use Whirlwind Psynergy here?
Face: Insight Psynergy grants a view of objects and people that can help you find a way forward.
Matthew: ?!
Karis: What an amazing power... And how curious that the Insight Glass chose its owner!
Tyrell: And it's Amiti? Hey! Why can't it be me?
Rief: How odd that the Insight Glass would choose Amiti, out of all us Adepts.
Amiti: I'm honored, of course! But I cannot say why it would choose me over any of you!
Karis: Well, who knows why it turned the rest of us down. At least we found the Insight Glass, so let's return to King Paithos!

Amiti: Maybe the Insight Glass and the power it grants would be of some use right now.

Paithos: Ah, here you are at last. I've been waiting, Matthew.
Amiti: Why have you come, Uncle?
Paithos: I am worried that you won't find the ancient Insight Glass. It has been hidden for so very long! Ah, but I can see the pride beaming on your faces! But how about you, Matthew?
Matthew:
Karis: Well, Matthew is just as happy as the rest of us, of course!

Karis: We need to get the Sol Mask from the Ouroboros, so we can finally get the Alchemy Forge working properly. The forge will help restore your ancient civilization, bringing water throughout this whole region... But it will also create that could passage that we need to cross the Khiren Mountains.
Paithos: The ancients were said to cross from Passaj to Craggy Peak... Perhaps there is truth to the legends.
Tyrell: We have to give it a try. So we've got to be going.

Paithos: Is something troubling you, Amiti?
Amiti: I was chosen to use the Insight Glass. So I too must go to the Ouroboros.

[They leave and we see them talking to the guards at the stone gate.]

[He walks up the stairs and leaves.]

Tyrell: You're still a great mystery, Amiti. I mean, your father was a powerful Adept! Who could he have been?
Karis: Don't you think it's practically fate that Amiti joined us?

[Amiti heads up the stairs.]
Karis: Now that we have what we need, let's change the flow of the Alchemy Well back to normal.
[It cuts to the Alchemy Well, where Rief uses Douse to restore the flow.]
Rief: Now the people of Ayuthay can rest easy.

[When you ascend the ladder, the two guards are standing there with Amiti, who is now wearing a different ensemble that even includes a shirt.]
Amiti: Ah, there you are! We're leaving, guards. Please open the gate.
Ayuthay Guard 1: At once, Your Highness!
Ayuthay Guard 2: We'd already been informed of your departure!
[They turn a couple of cranks and the stone doors slide open.]
Ayuthay Guard 1: You may now pass through the gate.
Ayuthay Guard 2: You can now come and go as you please.
Amiti: All right, let's be on our way.
Text: Amiti joined your party.
Text: You can have up to four characters in battle at a time. The remaining characters will be held in reserve. You can change your battle lineup by swapping an active character for one currently in reserve. Swap characters from the menu. To open the menu, tap {X} in the lower-right portion of the screen.
[It opens the menu and a tutorial follows.]

[Matthew and Amiti head out the gate. It closes behind them.]
Amiti: Are you worried that we'll never be able to return to inner Ayuthay?
Matthew: [Yes]
Amiti: Don't worry. Simply walk up to the gate and speak to the guards inside. I'll show you.

Matthew: [No]
Amiti: Good, for it will now be a simple matter for us to enter. I'll show you.
(*Continuing*)
[Amiti walks up to the gate and a panel opens.]
Ayuthay Guard 1: Are you coming back inside already, Amiti?
[Amiti shakes his head.]
Ayuthay Guard 1: Then may you have a safe journey.
[The panel closes.]
Amiti: You see? The stone gate will now open for us at any time. You mustn't forget, Matthew.
-Onward!-
[Going up to the gate:]

Ayuthay Guard 2: Welcome back!
[The gate slides open.]

[When you try to head out the front door, the generals enter.]
Ku-Tsung: We've found you, vile traitors!
Ku-Embra: You abandoned your mission to rid this place of evil! For the spirits still laugh at us!
Ku-Tsung: They have made a mockery of the Kaocho military, General Ku-Embra!
Ku-Embra: How dare you toy with Kaocho's greatest generals? I cannot tolerate this insolence!
Ku-Tsung: Nor I.
Ku-Embra: Now take your punishment, you mongrels!
Tyrell: I thought you said good things were coming our way, Rief!
Rief: Well, things were looking up, what with Amiti joining us!
Amiti: My friends, this may not be the best time to discuss it.
Karis: He's right! Time to fight!
[After the fight:]
Tyrell: We defeated the generals, Matthew!
Ku-Tsung: So you truly are powerful Adepts...
Ku-Embra: These young pups beat us...
Amiti: You never stood a chance against the Adepts, generals.
[The stone gates open and the ministers walk out, followed by Paithos.]
Ayuthay Minister 1: Kaocho's mightiest heroes...shamed by defeat.
Ayuthay Minister 2: The generals are renowned for their might. Their downfall proves Ayuthay's superiority.
Tyrell: I'd watch what you say, ministers... There are dangerous days for Ayuthay to brag that it's better than Kaocho.
Karis: That's right. Our victory might help stop the conflict. You wouldn't want to start new ones. Now, we should tie up the generals before they can make more trouble!
[It fades to black. When the picture comes back, the generals are tied up.]
Paithos: Adepts, you have our eternal gratitude for defeating the great generals of Kaocho. And you are right. This is no time to rile up the Kaocho outside. Please, forgive my advisors. You need to be able to leave Ayuthay and travel Ei-Jei without the Kaocho causing you trouble.
Ayuthay Minister 1: My deepest apologies.
Ayuthay Minister 2: We abide by your wisdom.
[The ministers leave.]
Amiti: I have an idea about how we can deal with the soldiers. The generals may be fierce fighters in personal combat... But they don't seem to lead their soldiers well. We could take advantage of this.
Paithos: True, their men have been wandering outside aimlessly for a long time. If we simply say nothing about the generals, they may never notice.
Karis: With most of their forces in Ayuthay, we can head to Kaocho and enter the Ouroboros without a hassle!
Amiti: This whole matter would be easier if there weren't quite SO many of them.
Paithos: In that case, we must keep the generals quiet inside Ayuthay, while you make your way to Kaocho.
Amiti: Keep close watch on them. That will buy us the time we need to find the Sol Mask. Let's make haste, my friends.
Paithos: The hopes of the Ayuthay, as well as all people of Ei-Jei, rest in your hands. Go now.
[The guards come out and drag away the generals. Paithos follows and the stone gate closes.]

A10: I'm glad the Kaocho generals are locked up. I have to admit they're pretty intimidating. They look really tough, so if you beat them, that makes you the toughest people I know!

A11: The high and mighty generals, Ku-Tsung and Ku-Embra, here in our prison! It doesn't get any better than that.

Ku-Embra: You dogs! You worms! I can't accept that I lost to Adepts! I'll take this shame to my grave...

Ku-Tsung: This defeat doesn't tarnish my honor, Matthew. It's rare to face a great foe in combat, and I'll never forget you Adepts for the rest of my life.

KS05: I sure wish we could call it a day and head home. I need to get back to my farming!

KS06: Things were going so well until those spirits showed up. And now the generals have gone missing!

KS07: All we've done since we got to Ayuthay is watch the grass grow. Not a bad way to earn a living!

[When you approach the soldier standing on the raft:]
KS04: If you're looking to cross to the far side, I'm your man. Want me to take you across?
Matthew: [Yes]
KS04: Sounds good. Hold tight. We're shoving off!

KS04: Not now? OK, you know where to find me if you want to cross.

Kaocho Guard 3: I heard you didn't get rid of those evil spirts. The generals were very upset at you.

KS01: Looks like another big day of doing nothing. I don't like war much, but a battle would break the monotony.

KS02: I haven't seen our generals for a while. I wonder where Ku-Tsung and Ku-Embra have gone to?
